Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a welder’s training program or certification.
• 2 years of welding experience.
• Experience in a production environment desirable.
• Experience in heavy fabrications required.
• Overhead crane certification.
• Solid knowledge of welding theory.
• Able to read weld symbols and weld maps from blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Read weld symbols and correctly fit parts from blueprints.
• Support team leaders by monitoring and reporting information on projects, processes and problems.
• May assist with the estimation process by providing input on processes and labor requirements.
• Participate in customer or potential customer visits.
• Operate overhead crane; inspect rigging equipment and use proper rigging technique.
• Weld flat, horizontal GMAW and flux core welds; ensure parts are clean and properly conformed.
• Record job and section in time matrix; follow EHS policies and engage in safety initiatives.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives; perform other duties as assigned.
