Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a Sr. Lead Weight Engineer to drive weight management initiatives within the Energy Management & Aero-Thermal (EMAT) team in Auburn, AL. You will guide weight budgets, top‑down estimates, and program development across vehicle variants from concept to production.

The role requires mentoring engineers, coordinating cross‑functional weight reduction efforts, and validating weights against prototypes to ensure accuracy and alignment with program goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years automotive engineering experience.
• Experience in at least two full program life cycles from concept through launch.
• Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with senior leadership through both written and verbal means.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and train less experienced Weight Engineers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Train, lead, and mentor junior team members.
• Develop EPA option weight budgets and weight scorecards.
• Coordinate component weighing at suppliers and assembly plants.
• Validate prototype vehicle weights and address weight issues at plants.
• Lead BOM validation and weight reporting transitions after launch.
• Monitor weight status from X0 to SOP and ensure accuracy of weight status roll-ups.
