Job summary

Bloomberg is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for BPS Monetization in New York. You will build, modernize and operate platforms powering Bloomberg's marketing websites and digital experiences, spanning CMS, frontend, APIs, cloud infrastructure and tooling.

You'll work across our web ecosystem, taking ownership of problems, collaborating with Product, Design and other engineers to deliver high-quality software and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with CMS platforms or content-driven websites.
• Comfort with enterprise, headless or composable CMS platforms is valuable.
• Familiarity with automated testing, source control, CI/CD and modern workflows.
• Understanding of modern web technologies, APIs and frontend/backend architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and operate modern web applications and digital experiences supporting Bloomberg's marketing ecosystem.
• Build and evolve our web publishing platform on Optimizely, shaping content models and data structures while developing reusable components and integrations.
• Build new digital experiences from the ground up, collaborating with Product, Marketing, Design and other engineering teams from requirements through production.
• Take end-to-end ownership of engineering work, including requirements, approaches, implementation, testing, deployment and support.
• Translate evolving business requirements into clear technical solutions and communicate trade-offs, risks and dependencies.
• Develop solutions with quality, maintainability, performance, accessibility, security and SEO in mind.
• Build automated tests and contribute to engineering practices that enable frequent releases.
• Participate in technical discussions, architecture decisions, code reviews and engineering standards.
• Experiment with and adopt AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development, improve quality and productivity.
