Job summary

Bowhead is seeking a Web Developer for the upcoming DTRA PAO contract in Fort Belvoir, VA. You will architect and maintain the technical web infrastructure supporting DTRA.mil's media galleries, ensuring secure, high-performing hosting for interactive digital content and video.

Responsibilities include optimizing web infrastructure, ensuring accessibility, and applying DoD security practices while supporting high-demand media delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• 5–10 years of front-end and back-end web development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, responsive design, and database integration.
• Experience managing web environments hosting interactive media and video streaming.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements and secure coding practices.
• Familiarity with Section 508 compliance and WCAG standards for web accessibility.
• Cross‑platform optimization for desktop, mobile and tablet.
• Active IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Architect, maintain, and optimize web infrastructure for hosting interactive media and video.
• Maintain the agency website backend to support high-bandwidth digital media.
• Ensure seamless video playback without compromising site speed or performance.
• Guarantee cross-device functionality and robust web security.
• Perform vulnerability patching and DoD-compliant software updates.
• Other duties as assigned.
