Job summary

The University of Texas School of Law is seeking a Senior Software Developer/Analyst to design, develop, test, and maintain law school websites and software apps, with strong WordPress expertise. You will work across the full stack with front-end and back-end developers and stakeholders.

Requirements include five years of web development, a CS-related degree, PHP and JavaScript proficiency, and WordPress plugin/theme experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of web or related software development experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Advanced experience with PHP and JavaScript and WordPress custom theme/plugin development.
  • Relational databases and SQL knowledge; data security and privacy best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and maintains responsive websites and applications across front-end and back-end components, collaborating with the web team and stakeholders.
  • Performs QA testing during staging and after deployment, identifying and resolving cross-browser issues and defects.
  • Maintains WordPress Multisite installations, including custom Site Editor themes and plugins using PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Keeps WordPress core and plugins current and secure.
  • Handles website-related requests from faculty, staff, and students, troubleshooting and guiding to solutions.
