Job summary

Illinois Central College is seeking a Senior Web Content Administrator to lead content governance for the college's website and intranet. You will hand-code HTML/CSS, guide design and information architecture, and mentor student workers across campus.

You will manage CMS/admin tasks, conduct UX research, and ensure WCAG-compliant content while collaborating with Marketing and Web Services on projects and campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of three years of experience in online content and digital communications.
• Minimum of two years of experience coordinating web communication projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in web writing, reporting, and copy editing, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to hand-code HTML and CSS, including page structure, layout, and styling.
• Ability to perform advanced image manipulation using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator.
• Experience planning and conducting user research and translating findings into content recommendations.
• Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards.
• Proven track record of leading project teams and mentoring contributors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Content Strategy & Governance: set standards and voice for website and intranet.
• Information Architecture & Web Design: structure navigation and build pages with CMS and HTML/CSS.
• CMS & Intranet Administration: co-administer CMS, manage permissions and workflows.
• UX Research & Analytics: conduct interviews, tests and surveys; translate analytics into improvements.
• Quality Assurance, SEO & Accessibility: maintain SEO, ensure WCAG compliance and audit content.
• Project Management & Support: manage end-to-end web projects and support campaigns.
• Technical & Procedural Documentation: write SOPs and knowledge base articles.
• Training & Mentorship: onboard and guide content contributors and student workers.
• Operational Leadership: backup to Manager of Web Services for platform operations.
