Job summary

Oura is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our hardware team, focusing on future wearables. This hybrid role is based in our San Francisco office.

You will design and develop mechanical aspects of cutting-edge wearables, collaborating with industrial designers, hardware engineers, and UX designers. We value 6+ years of consumer product design experience, strong CAD skills (NX/SolidWorks), and proven prototyping ability.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a consumer product design engineer who loves creative, fast-paced, collaborative teams.
• 3D CAD (NX or Solidworks) to design densely packaged consumer electronics.
• Prototyping to evaluate design concepts with standard test equipment.
• Knowledge of materials and scalable manufacturing processes; mechanics of materials.
• Ability to solve problems and imagine engineering solutions in ambiguous situations.
• Demonstrated technical leadership; capable of mentoring across orgs.
• Strong communication to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and development of wearable and consumer devices with high attention to detail.
• Drive product development with manufacturing partners across regions.
• Build and test prototypes, iterate quickly based on results.
