Job summary

Ōura is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join our hardware team in San Francisco, hybrid. You will lead the electrical design and validation of cutting-edge wearable devices, from architecture to PCB integration, working with firmware and mechanical engineers.

You have 10+ years shipping high-volume consumer electronics, strong PCB design skills, and experience with ultra-low power SoCs, MEMS sensors, BLE/Wi‑Fi, and rapid prototypes. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years shipping high-volume consumer electronics as a HW Systems Integrator.
• Experience with ultra-low-power microprocessors, SoCs, MEMS sensors, and wireless charging.
• Proven PCB design and validation of analog/digital circuits.
• Familiarity with UART, I2C, SPI, DSI, and other protocols; scripting for tests.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout with Altium/KiCad; rapid prototyping.
• Experience collaborating with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and development of wearables and consumer devices.
• Define and execute rapid prototyping efforts for concepts and evaluations.
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot electrical systems to meet performance and safety standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers for seamless integration.
• Work with firmware to develop embedded systems and automation scripts.
• Help define product roadmaps and timelines.
