Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has multiple openings for Weapon System Engineers to support cross-functional engineering activities in support of the Laboratory’s nuclear weapon stockpile operations mission. Staff will analyze system and subsystem performance, support warhead component development, and execute production qualification activities to meet program milestones.

You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate designs for safety, performance, and reliability,

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required for DOE Q-level clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with systems engineering and GD&T.
• Experience with engineering testing and data analysis.
• Ability to travel.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Resolve moderate to complex technical and programmatic issues using engineering knowledge.
• Support system performance modeling, trade studies, failure analysis, and risk management.
• Lead test planning, data analysis, evaluation, qualification, and verification efforts.
• Review producibility, manufacturability, and surveillance issues and provide solutions.
• Participate in technical reviews, multi-site meetings, and program reviews.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
