Job summary

Collins Engineers in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with a Professional Engineer license to lead projects in waterfront, ports, and marina infrastructure. You will guide design teams, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and manage project scopes and budgets.

Relocation assistance is available and candidates should have 12+ years of progressive project engineering experience and a PE. Expect leadership, collaboration with clients, and a strong focus on safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
• 12 years or more progressive experience in project engineering.
• Experience with the evaluation and structural design of infrastructure including waterfront structures, ports and/or marinas.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Acting independently on technical matters within area of expertise.
• Provide technical engineering expertise to project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure compliance with standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.
• Review, analyze, and resolve field and/or design issues.
• Provide expertise in complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
• Serve as the technical specialist on engineering projects of varying size and complexity.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
• Assist in proposal preparation, project scoping, and cost estimating.
• Coordinate project schedules and timely completion of projects.
• Provide technical leadership to project teams and support staff.
• Supervise all staff necessary to complete assignments.
• Observe safety and be available for meetings outside normal hours.
• Stay active in technical societies and publish engineering papers.
