Job summary

KPFF Special Projects Division in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a Structural Engineer with waterfront infrastructure expertise. You will design and develop structural systems for ports, marinas, ferry terminals, and shipyards, while managing project scope, quality, and client expectations in a collaborative team environment.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, a civil engineering degree with a structural focus, SE license, and proficiency with SAP2000 and L-Pile.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with a structural emphasis)
• MS in Civil Engineering preferred (with a structural emphasis)
• SE required.
• Concrete, steel and timber design experience
• Pile design and bulkhead wall experience
• Prestressed concrete and seismic design experience
• Knowledge of ASCE 61-14, AASHTO, IBC, ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, and NDS
• Proficiency in SAP2000, L-Pile, MS Excel, and VBA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Structural design and development for waterfront projects including piles, bulkheads, prestressed concrete, seismic design.
• Engage with clients and manage projects with attention to timelines and budgets.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across the project lifecycle.
