Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson seeks an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager in Herndon, VA. You will lead projects from design through construction, coordinating engineers, subconsultants, and clients to deliver high‑quality water and wastewater solutions.

The role offers an ESOP environment with mentorship and entrepreneurial culture, and a compensation range of $60–$80 per hour based on experience, education, and certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, environmental, or chemical engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Registered Professional Engineer.
• 10+ years of experience delivering water and wastewater projects from design through construction.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; works well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manages projects in scope, schedule and budget.
• Collaborates with subconsultants to build a scope and fee.
• Develop project management plans and quality plans.
• Create and maintain project schedules.
• Coordinate subconsultants and internal resources.
• Monitor progress, mitigate risks, and develop change orders.
• Prepare progress reports and review invoices.
• Lead project status meetings and client communications.
• Support marketing, proposals, and interview processes.
