Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a Water/Wastewater background for the Brevard & Indian River County area. You will lead large, complex construction projects, mentor project teams, and drive financial performance and client satisfaction across assigned programs.

You will oversee project staff, manage risk, and support business development while ensuring safe, compliant operations and operational excellence. Travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

• Six to ten years of Water/Wastewater construction management experience.
• Proven success leading large-scale or multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong leadership, operational management, financial oversight, and client relations skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Ability to mentor and coach staff at varying levels of experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Provide leadership and guidance to project teams.
• Monitor budgeting, forecasting, profitability, cash flow, and risk management.
• Develop executive-level client and stakeholder relationships.
• Support business development activities and industry engagements.
• Resolve major project disputes and contractual issues.
• Drive process improvement and best practices across teams.
• Assist staffing, resource planning, and development initiatives.
• Monitor schedules, procurement, and quality/safety across projects.
• Provide executive-level reporting to senior leadership.
