Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services seeks a Senior Project Engineer/Manager to lead mission critical water and wastewater efforts for data center clients nationwide. You will guide water strategy development, due diligence, source water assessments, and permitting, leveraging national resources and cross‑functional teams.

The role requires senior-level experience, leadership in regulatory programs, and a track record of managing complex projects across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years in environmental field with 5+ years in project management in consulting.
• Professional certification or on track to obtain (e.g., PE, CHMM).
• Experience with water/wastewater treatment technologies and regulatory obligations.
• Willingness to engage in business development and cross-sell services across state lines.

Responsibilities

• Lead water due diligence for data center developments and assess source water availability.
• Develop water sourcing strategies across municipal, ground, surface, and reclaimed water.
• Advance wastewater discharge strategies including NPDES permitting and reuse.
• Coordinate water/wastewater planning with engineering teams and utilities.
• Provide regulatory guidance on water treatment, and lead nationwide compliance efforts.
