Job summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Manager - Mission Critical Water and Wastewater to support its growing national water practice. This role leads data center water strategy initiatives, due diligence, water sourcing, and permitting across the United States.

You will mentor staff, coordinate cross-region teams, and partner with leadership to drive growth in water and environmental compliance services for premier land development projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years in environmental field with minimum 5 years in project management in a consulting setting.
• Professional certification or on track to obtain (PE, CHMM) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead water due diligence and source water availability assessments for data center projects.
• Develop water sourcing strategies across municipal, groundwater, surface, and reclaimed resources.
• Advance wastewater discharge strategies including NPDES permitting and land application.
• Coordinate with engineering teams on water/wastewater infrastructure planning and interface design.
• Provide regulatory guidance on water treatment, cooling water systems, and industrial wastewater management.
• Collaborate with utilities, regulatory agencies, and clients to navigate permitting challenges.
• Lead water strategy development through all project stages: due diligence, permitting, construction, startup, and operations.
