Job summary

Kleinfelder in the New England Water Team is seeking a Senior Water and Wastewater Project and Client Account Manager to lead major proposals, manage multi-disciplinary projects, and grow client relationships from initiation through closeout. Based in Worcester, MA or Portland, ME, this role combines technical leadership with strategic business development.

You will deliver projects on time and on budget, mentor staff, participate in conferences and committees, and work with clients and partners

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional and project management experience in a consulting engineering firm or related service.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering or related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Professional registration (PE).
• Proven business development and project management experience in water/wastewater infrastructure with design consulting firms.
• Business acumen related to project management, portfolio financials and risk management.
• Understanding of sales pipeline metrics backlog growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead major proposal efforts, develop client/project capture plans. Participate in project scoping activities and proposal presentations.
• Manage projects, present at technical conferences and engage in technical committees.
• Mentor staff and grow the team and work portfolio.
• Build strong relationships and interact regularly with key clients, teaming partners, industry groups and stakeholders linked to the market.
• Continuously interact with clients assuring satisfaction with Company services and work closely with project delivery personnel to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner
• Reinforce collaboration and team building, ensure client focus, demonstrate commitment to excellence and innovation, and motivate others to ensure positive morale and engagement
• Provide input on business development priorities, budget and expenditures for the water team.
• Negotiate favorable contract terms and conditions and achieve cost of sales, gross margin, backlog, and other related financial and business goals.
• Support the identification and mitigation of risks and commercial terms during the project lifecycle.
