Job summary

B in Madison, WI is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate estimates and partnering with operations from bid through project handoff.

You'll evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs, and collaborate in bid reviews and handoffs for successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in civil engineering or construction management.
• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure coverage of scope.
• Evaluate phasing, scheduling, logistics, constructability, and sequencing of projects.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
