Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Senior Engineer (Design) to support a long-term program and work on the Potomac Interceptor sewer rehab project for DC Water. The successful candidate will be based in the DC field office three days per week and report to the Program Manager within TYLin Water Sector.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, 10+ years in water/wastewater design, and a PE license valid in DC, MD, and VA. MS preferred; strong leadership and client engagement skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is required. MS. Degree preferred.
• Experience: 10+ years managing water/wastewater design projects and teams with CIP planning, budgeting, scheduling.
• PE license is required. Must reciprocate license in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Manage sewer engineering design and consulting teams for complex assignments (hydraulic/hydrologic calculations, plans, specs).
• Lead project delivery plans: resources, budget, schedule, deliverables, client engagement.
• Oversee multiple assignments, ensure client satisfaction while meeting contract requirements and budgets.
• Review designs, bid packages and SOWs as part of program management for CIP implementation.
• Assist in Program Management Services: CIP planning, budgeting, scheduling, coordination of consultants/contractors.
