Job summary

Aqua Texas is seeking a Project Engineer III to lead capital improvement projects across our Texas operations. You will manage design, bidding, and procurement, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance while coordinating with operations and asset management teams.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in water/wastewater engineering, a Texas PE license (or within 6 months of hire), and strong project management skills to deliver on schedule and budget. Travel to multiple sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field is required.
• Professional Engineer’s License (PE) in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• 6+ years of professional Water/Wastewater experience with budgets over $1M.
• Experience conducting field testing, data collection, and master planning for water systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct project management support for capital projects in design and construction.
• Manage third party consulting design firms and contractual documents.
• Oversee design concepts to meet company standards for capacity, safety, and compliance.
• Lead water and wastewater treatment process design and reviews.
• Coordinate with Operations Teams to optimize treatment processes and apply new tech.
