Job summary

GFT is seeking a Water Treatment Process Engineer to join our Water team in a hybrid office setting. The role focuses on designing and evaluating potable water treatment processes, expanding facilities, and supporting permitting with a strong emphasis on sustainability and public health.

The candidate will lead site visits, conduct studies, prepare design documents, and collaborate across teams to deliver safe, compliant water infrastructure projects.”

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering; MS preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or can be obtained in 6–12 months.
• 6+ years in water treatment; experience with potable water facilities.
• Strong understanding of water treatment chemistry and processes.
• Experience with project delivery phases from planning to commissioning.
• Willingness to travel for meetings, fieldwork, site inspections.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support design of water treatment through evaluation of existing processes and facilities.
• Conduct site visits, treatment studies, and develop process recommendations.
• Prepare reports and design documents, and support permitting efforts.
• Assist in planning and execution of projects through plan, design, procure, construct, and commissioning.
