Job summary

The City of Arlington is seeking a maintenance technician to assist with water infrastructure tasks including meter replacements, AMI maintenance, leak investigations, and hydrant replacements. The role supports field operations for approximately 150,000 meters and requires compliance with safety and city policies.

Responsibilities include meter maintenance, flow testing, basic service repairs, and collaboration with Meter teams and Capital Improvement Teams.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years related experience.
• Must obtain Texas CDL Class A with Tanker Endorsement within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meter replacements, pipe repairs, AMI maintenance, flow tests, leak investigations and hydrant replacements.
• Assist with in-place meter maintenance: reset counters and GPS links.
• Perform field testing for meter accuracy.
• Replace water meters ¾" to 10" and service lines.
• Investigate leaks and differentiate public vs. private property issues.
