Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Engineer focused on water and wastewater systems to join our Tennessee offices. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of water and wastewater solutions that protect resources and support sustainable management practices.

You will collaborate on challenging projects, perform analyses and modeling, and help ensure compliance with regulations while mentoring junior staff and supporting proposals and client relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, and related facilities.
• Review draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Perform water quality analyses and modeling.
• Develop technical design documentation and papers; submit works for publishing.
• Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to client requests (RFPs).
• Attend conferences to promote firm products and services.
• Provide guidance and training to junior staff; mentor and oversee project work.
• Performs other duties as required.
