Job summary

SCV Water is seeking an experienced Water Resources Planner to lead complex planning and policy work, developing strategies for water supply, forecasting demand, and evaluating environmental resources while coordinating with regional partners and the Board.

The role requires advanced knowledge of hydrology and hydrogeology, strong data analysis and modeling skills, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to staff, management, and public stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental, natural, or physical sciences, or related field.
  • 5 years of water resources management experience; 3+ years with a Master.
  • Knowledge of water resources forecasting and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to prepare reports and present to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, and manages annual water supply operations and imported water programs.
  • Analyzes water supply portfolio options and improves reliability and flexibility.
  • Leads development of Urban Water Management Plan and related assessments.
  • Coordinates with consultants, staff, regulators, and boards on water resources planning.
