Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. seeks a senior Water Resources Engineer to lead hydraulics, hydrology, and resiliency projects across New England, delivering technically rigorous solutions for riverine and coastal flooding, ecological restoration, and water resources challenges.

The role emphasizes advanced HH modeling, client interaction, and mentoring staff, with offices in the Greater Boston area; base pay reflects experience and location.

Qualifications

• Minimum 11+ years of experience in water resource engineering and analysis.
• BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering; master's degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
• PE license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary projects with hydrologic, hydraulic, and resiliency focus.
• Conduct hydrologic, hydraulic, scour studies using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and more.
• Identify and design flood, scour, resiliency improvements (hard/soft).
• Perform FEMA no-rise analyses and assist with map revisions.
• Develop technical reports, designs, and construction documents.
• Lead construction administration for water resource projects.
• Support permit applications and interact with agencies and stakeholders.
• Present at meetings with clients/regulatory bodies; develop proposals and fee estimates.
• Mentor staff and expand technical resources.
