Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) seeks a Water Resources Project Manager specializing in hydrology and hydraulics to lead complex riverine and coastal flood projects across New England.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, client engagement, and innovative, cost-effective solutions with a focus on resiliency. Ideal candidates bring 11+ years in water resources, PE licensure, and deep experience with modeling tools (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, HydroCAD).

Qualifications

• Minimum 11+ years experience in related water resource engineering and analysis.
• BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering (a master's degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience).
• PE license.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary projects with hydrologic, hydraulic, and resiliency focus.
• Conduct hydrologic, hydraulic and scour studies using current modeling software.
• Identify and design flood, scour and resiliency improvements (hardened features and nature-based solutions).
• Perform FEMA no-rise analyses and assist with FEMA map revisions.
• Develop technical reports, design plans, construction documents, and specifications.
• Lead construction administration for water resource projects.
• Support permit applications and engage with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.
• Lead development of project proposals, scopes of work and fee estimates.
• Mentor and expand the technical resources of staff.
