Job summary

The St. Johns River Water Management District is seeking Engineer III, IV, or PE to support flood control operations and water resource projects across northeast and east-central Florida.

You will analyze hydraulic data, maintain telemetry systems, and lead field activities with technicians and contractors. Ideal candidates have a background in water resources engineering, project management, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering with four years of engineering experience for Engineer III.
• Engineer IV requires six years' experience or Florida PE license; advanced degree may substitute part of experience.
• Professional Engineer license; candidate licensed in another state must obtain Florida licensure within one year.

Responsibilities

• Analyze hydraulic, hydrologic, operational, and telemetry data and prepare periodic reports.
• Support telemetry and SCADA systems; coordinate upgrades with vendors.
• Conduct periodic field activities at flood control structures and related facilities; develop deficiency lists and action plans.
• Operate pumps, gates, and water control systems; coordinate with staff and partner agencies.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates; supervise consultants and contractors.
