LJB Inc. is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to grow our Water Resources Practice in North Carolina.

The role supports a varied client base and is based in Charlotte, Raleigh, or Kernersville, NC, with remote or hybrid options available for candidates located in North Carolina. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of progressive water resources engineering experience, strong technical judgment, and the ability to lead projects, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in water resources.
• PE license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or equivalent software.
• Strong background in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (2D modeling experience preferred).
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal stormwater management regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and design of water resources and civil infrastructure projects.
• Manage and deliver projects from concept through final design, permitting, and construction support.
• Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Interface with clients, stakeholders, and public agencies to build professional relationships.
• Collaborate with CAD designers and GIS technicians to develop engineering solutions.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff.
