Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. seeks an Early-Career Water Resources Engineer to join a hybrid team in the Raleigh area. You will apply your academic knowledge to real-world water resources and ecological restoration projects, collaborating with multi‑disciplinary professionals.

Responsibilities include hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, watershed design, and modeling, plus site visits and report preparation. Bachelor's in engineering required; internship and field travel access preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior internship in environmental consulting (preferred).
• Experience with modeling/design tools such as ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HY-8, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and TR-55.
• Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required).
• Some field work and overnight travel (required).
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and modeling.
• Design and analyze watershed, stormwater management, and stream restoration projects.
• Perform surface water quality/hydrodynamic modeling and data analysis.
• Assist in green infrastructure/low impact development design.
• Support floodplain modeling and permitting efforts.
• Contribute to erosion and sediment control design and compliance with Clean Water Act/NPDES.
• Assist civil/infrastructure design and site layout.
• Conduct site visits and field investigations; prepare technical reports, drawings, specs.
