Job summary

LJB Inc. is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to grow our Water Resources Practice in North Carolina, with roles based in Charlotte, Raleigh, or Kernersville and with remote or hybrid options for NC candidates.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of progressive water resources engineering experience, strong technical judgment, and the ability to lead projects, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in water resources.
• PE license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or equivalent software.
• Strong background in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (2D modeling preferred).
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal stormwater management regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and design of water resources and civil infrastructure projects.
• Manage projects from concept through design, permitting, and construction support.
• Oversee scope, schedule, and budget; ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Interface with clients, stakeholders, and public agencies.
• Collaborate with CAD designers, EITs, and GIS technicians; mentor junior staff.
