Job summary

Wallace Montgomery is seeking a Water Resources engineer with at least 5 years of professional experience to join our Fairfax or Richmond, Virginia office. This role will involve working on diverse project types, offering growth opportunities and exposure to cross-functional teams.

The Design Engineer III will mentor junior engineers, contribute to high-quality designs, and support project delivery through collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer license required (VA preferred).
• 5-10 years' experience.
• VDOT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering design, studies and reports.
• Determine / reviews appropriate application of technical methods of the work and verify compliance with criteria.
• Participate / Reviews the development of engineering design details, specifications, contract drawings and estimates.
• Prepare construction contract documents including final design details, construction drawings, specifications and estimates.
• Participate in presentations such as public meetings.
• Monitor current design trends/methodologies related to their area of expertise.
• Assist in training new employees in using CADD software.
• Client contact on a limited basis.
• Field work as team member for inspections and research for projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
