Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. seeks a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join the Water Team in Blacksburg, VA or Richmond, VA.

You will serve as a technical leader on complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, guiding delivery, mentoring emerging professionals, and helping build resilient infrastructure that protects public health and supports community growth. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 4+ years of experience, a PE license, and proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD/MicroStation plus MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Advanced proficiency in engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation) and MS Office.
• Strong QA/QC knowledge, business practices, and engineering laws.
• Proven leadership and collaborative abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Participation in professional engineering societies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced judgement and analysis to complete complex designs, reports, specifications, and contract documents for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staff.
• Monitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize issues in vital infrastructure.
• Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable and cost-effective solutions.
• Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff.
