Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Water Team in Blacksburg, VA or Richmond, VA.

You will serve as a technical leader on complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, guiding planning, design, and execution to deliver durable, community-focused solutions. The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree, PE license, 4+ years of experience, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced judgement and analysis techniques to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staff.
• Monitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize issues in vital infrastructure.
• Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable and cost-effective solutions.
• Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff.
