Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Water Resource Management Specialist for our US-based client. The role focuses on planning and implementing sustainable water resource strategies, with emphasis on hydrological analysis, water quality, and stakeholder engagement in Utah.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in a relevant field, 6+ years of experience, and strong data analysis and GIS skills. This on-site position offers opportunities to influence water management practices and policy implementation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Hydrology or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of water resource management experience.
• Strong understanding of hydrology, water quality, and modeling.
• Experience with data analysis, GIS, and water resource assessment tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Knowledge of South African water legislation, such as the National Water Act.
• Experience coordinating interdisciplinary teams and project management.
• Willingness to conduct fieldwork and hold a driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological studies and water balance assessments.
• Develop and implement integrated water resource management plans.
• Monitor water quality and quantity and analyze trends.
• Advise on water use efficiency for agriculture, industry, and domestic.
• Engage with farmers, municipalities, industry, and communities.
• Contribute to water policies and regulations.
• Assess climate change impacts and propose adaptations.
• Manage water-related projects and budgeting.
• Develop public awareness materials on water conservation.
• Respond to emergencies and advise on mitigations.
