Join to apply for the Senior - Water Resource Engineer - Transportation role at Pennoni

Pennoni is hiring! This individual will support transportation projects by performing a wide range of water resources related tasks. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater, drainage, erosion and sediment control design, flood studies, bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, and plan and report preparation. This position offers the opportunity to work in Pennoni’s Newark, DE office, one of its most successful design hubs.

Our Transportation Team serves Transportation Agencies and Municipalities in the Mid-Atlantic Region, Private land developers, Corporations, and beyond.

Job Responsibilities

• Support H&H, ES&C, drainage, and SWM tasks related to bridge replacement and highway improvement projects across the Mid-Atlantic, focusing on Delaware and surrounding states.
• Interact with clients on technical challenges and potentially perform project management roles.
• Develop plans, technical reports, and specifications.
• Work on diversified projects with different clients.

Required Attributes

• PE license
• BS in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
• 5-12 years of relevant experience
• Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, floodplain management, stream restoration, culvert and bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, erosion and sediment control, drainage, stormwater management, plan review, and report preparation
• Proficiency in Microstation v8i, ArcGIS, HY-8, HEC-RAS, Storm and SewerCAD, WinTR-55, WinTR-20, HydroCAD, SMS/SRH2D
• Strong technical writing skills for reports and specifications
• Design experience with MicroStation preferred
• Understanding of state DOT design criteria, with prior experience with DelDOT, MDSHA, VDOT, DCDOT, or PennDOT
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
