Carollo Engineers in Houston seeks an experienced Senior Resident Engineer – Risk Manager to oversee large water/wastewater construction projects, ensuring budget, schedule, and quality control meet contract requirements.

You will mentor field engineers, coordinate with clients and contractors, and help prepare proposals while fostering safe, efficient site operations and long-term client relationships.

Competenze

• 15+ years experience including a lead role in $20 million or greater construction value water/wastewater project
• Experience focused in W/WW infrastructure and treatment projects
• Completion of OSHA 10-hour safety course and other construction safety training
• Thorough understanding of construction management processes and in-depth financial understanding of construction management
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors and lead engineer/project team, and deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraints
• Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and be extremely organized
• Working knowledge of construction management software such as Prolog, Bentley EADOC, Procore, BIM 360, etc.
• Working knowledge of construction scheduling software including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
• Working knowledge and understanding of construction methods, standards, specifications and plans
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Strong computer and internet skills
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel
• Bachelor of Science in civil engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer registration

Mansioni

• Budget monitoring and construction quality on the project site
• Prepares monthly contract status reports, budget reviews, and effectively evaluates and negotiates amendment and change order requests
• Reviews construction schedules for compliance with contract documents
• Reviews contractor schedule of values and payment applications
• Oversees timely workflow of construction documentation (submittals, RFIs, clarifications, etc.)
• Responsible for working as a team with the contractor, client, field team and designer
• Report writing
• Preparation of meeting agendas and portions of proposals
• Mentors and trains less experienced construction/field engineers
• Involved on team that prepares proposals and conducts interviews
• Cultivates client relationships and helps pursue new opportunities
