Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal Engineer focused on drinking water quality and treatment process evaluation, planning, and design for surface water and groundwater sources. You will lead technical efforts, mentor staff, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure compliant, innovative water solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; master's preferred.
• 15+ years' experience in drinking water quality and treatment.
• PE license in NJ/NY/PA or eligible for reciprocal licensing.
• In-depth understanding of water chemistry, corrosion chemistry, and disinfection byproduct mitigation.
• Experience with water utilities and project management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for drinking water treatment and distribution projects.
• Lead preparation of design deliverables, bench and pilot tests, and detailed design.
• Manage multiple projects within a multidisciplinary design team.
• Mentor and develop junior staff and share technical knowledge.
• Stay current with regulations and best practices in water treatment.
