Job summary
Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Senior Water Utility Engineer to join our Water Practice in Illinois. You will lead hydraulic modeling, master planning, and design of potable water systems for municipal clients, coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
The role requires a 4-year Civil Engineering degree, Illinois PE or reciprocity, 6+ years of water system experience, and proficiency with ArcGIS and WaterGEMS/InfoWater Pro.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering; Illinois P.E. license or reciprocity eligibility.
- 6+ years of potable water system analysis and design experience.
- Proficiency with ArcGIS and WaterGEMS and/or InfoWater Pro.
Responsibilities
- Develop hydraulic models of water distribution systems.
- Conduct advanced hydraulic modeling for infrastructure planning and operations optimization.
- Lead preparation of water system master plans.
- Evaluate and design potable water facilities and water mains.
- Manage water distribution system study and design projects.
- Perform quality control reviews of water models, reports, and designs.
- Lead project engineers and technical staff.
- Prepare plans and specifications for construction.
- Represent Baxter & Woodman at municipal meetings.
- Prepare competitive proposals and participate in interviews.
- Develop business in the Chicagoland area.
