Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Water Engineer to join our New York City team. In this position, you will utilize your expertise and technical knowledge to develop, lead, and support projects. You will have a proven reputation with clients as a professional and dynamic engineer who communicates clearly and effectively and successfully executes projects. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual with the ability to lead and collaborate on a wide variety of projects at different scales, in a 'hands-on' role, also supporting client development activities for municipal, state, federal, and private sector clients. A key component of this position is the desire to mentor and grow a talented team of engineers in the NYC area.

Role accountabilities:

As a Senior Water Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

1. Coordinating with local teams for project delivery.
2. Planning and design support for stormwater management, flood mitigation measures, green infrastructure, sewer and stormwater infrastructure design, interior flooding analysis, and other stormwater needs.
3. Preparation and review of design calculations and drawings.
4. Coordination of work with engineers of other disciplines, with a working knowledge of stormwater modeling, transportation, utility, and geotechnical engineering concepts.
5. Assisting with the identification and description of cost-effective, technically feasible, and environmentally sound stormwater actions.
6. Promoting the application of technologies (H&H and risk models, GI and BMP practices, etc.) and researching new and emerging technologies (dynamic stormwater control) to improve efficiency and clarity of assignments.

Key Skills and Attributes:

• Experience and expertise in civil engineering, with emphasis on civil site, heavy infrastructure, flood mitigation, sewer infrastructure design, stormwater BMPs.
• Demonstrated experience in developing innovative project implementation solutions.
• Experience in team development and mentoring staff.
• Understanding of local permitting and regulatory pathways for project implementation.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience focusing on stormwater management.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• NY PE license or ability to obtain one via reciprocity shortly after joining Arcadis.
