Role Overview

Our Instrumentation & Controls Engineers provide technically complex and robust control systems to support water/wastewater facilities. Responsibilities include designing or integrating industrial process control systems, and gaining proficiency in the design and implementation of industrial control systems. Knowledge of PLC and HMI programming, panel designing, power distribution systems, mechanical systems (pumps, fuel, generators), fire alarm, and life safety systems is required, along with construction administration services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design control panel layouts, BOMs, Nameplate Schedules, AC and/or DC wireway layouts.
  2. Develop I/O wiring diagrams, power distribution diagrams, I/O Lists.
  3. Select instruments using specifications and instrument data sheets.
  4. Design copper and fiber optic networks for control systems or SCADA.
  5. Develop Bills of Materials and cost estimates for projects.
  6. Prepare drawings using AutoCAD and REVIT.
  7. Create conceptual design reports and operational documents.
  8. Prepare engineering specifications.
  9. Coordinate with other engineers and architects.
  10. Engage with vendors and manufacturers to understand product capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Professional expertise in relevant areas.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Schneider, Wonderware SCADA.
  • 10-15% travel expected, including international trips.
Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT certification with plans to take the Control Systems PE exam.
