Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced civil engineer to lead design and construction of gravity sewer pipes, force mains, and water transmission systems across the Southwest. You’ll serve as Engineer-of-Record, oversee technical specs and construction documents, and mentor a local team while managing client relationships.

This full-time role offers collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams on critical water infrastructure projects in New Mexico and Idaho, with opportunities to influence project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental or related field; advanced degree desirable.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum 5 years in water, wastewater, and/or stormwater conveyance design.

Responsibilities

• Participate in multi-disciplinary teams on water conveyance projects across the Southwest.
• Conduct technical evaluations supporting planning and design of sewer collection systems and water distribution and transmission mains.
• Serve as Engineer-of-Record, leading the preparation and delivery of project technical specifications and civil engineering construction documents.
• Manage existing client relationships and develop new client relationships; lead scoping, value analysis, and cost estimating meetings.
• Supervise engineers and project staff, setting priorities for scope, budget, and schedules with the Project Manager.
• Evaluate, select, and specify civil and mechanical engineered systems or products for projects.
• Lead project coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
• Participate and/or lead value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Serve as project contact with clients and agencies for requirements and approvals.
• Engage in leadership of professional organizations; write papers and deliver presentations.
