Job summary

Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation is seeking a Deputy Director to lead operations, policy development, and strategic planning for a major water reclamation utility. The role requires oversight of personnel, safety, and interdepartmental collaboration to sustain service delivery.

The Deputy Director will oversee a budget of over $100 million in O&M and more than $50 million in capital improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of facilities and processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 8+ years of technical and managerial experience.
• Minimum five years supervising technical staff.
• Experience leading a public or private utility or similar large operation.
• Experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and forecasting.
• Experience ensuring regulatory compliance and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, directing functions and operations to promote wastewater services.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for divisions and participate in rate setting.
• Direct the supervision of staff involved in construction, inspection, and maintenance of sewer systems and treatment plants.
• Coordinate activities with other divisions, departments and outside agencies; manage budgets and reports.
