Job summary

Spokane County is seeking a Wastewater Design Technician in the Wastewater Division. The ideal candidate will respond to information requests, review sewer projects, and assist with permit processing and cost disclosures.

The position requires an Associate's degree in Engineering and 4 years' related experience, with a Washington driver's license. Overtime is eligible and regular hours are 40 per week.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Engineering from an accredited college.
• Four (4) years of related field or office experience in civil engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possession of a valid Washington Driver's License at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Respond to public, contractor and private developer requests for information.
• Review and track residential and commercial sewer projects for compliance with County standards.
• Answer inquiries concerning sewer improvements and guide customers on sewer installation procedures.
• Prepare and review connections and service charges; attend public meetings to discuss costs and schedules.
• Coordinate with designers and construction personnel to verify new sewer system connections.
