Job summary

Spokane County is seeking a Wastewater Design Technician to lead and coordinate sewer project activities, review permits, and ensure compliance with county standards. The role covers design, inspection, and project support across wastewater operations and related facilities.

Applicants should have an engineering associate degree and at least four years of civil engineering experience, with a valid Washington driver’s license. This is a regular, onsite position in Spokane County, WA.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering from an accredited college.
• Four years of related field or office experience in civil engineering, design, inspection or construction.
• Possession of a valid Washington Driver's License at time of hire and for duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Process sewer permits and review residential and commercial sewer projects for compliance.
• Support drafting, design and contract document work for public works sewer projects.
• Coordinate with designers and inspectors to verify sewer connections and costs.
• Provide technical support and respond to public inquiries about sewer programs.
