Job summary

Blue Bridge People represents a well-established manufacturing client seeking an experienced Warehouse and Shipping Manager in Cincinnati, OH. You will lead a hands-on team of eight hourly employees and oversee all shipping, receiving, and logistics for high-value capital equipment.

In this role, you will manage domestic and international shipments, negotiate carrier rates, review freight invoices, and ensure compliance with import/export regulations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in transportation/logistics within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supervising hourly warehouse staff.
• Strong knowledge of domestic and international transportation and DOT rules.
• Experience negotiating carrier rates and freight costs.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of eight Shipping & Receiving employees, including 2 Leads and 6 Materials Associates.
• Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time movement of materials and finished equipment.
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments to customers, suppliers, and other company locations.
• Negotiate transportation rates and manage carrier relationships to ensure cost-effective freight solutions.
• Review freight invoices, resolve billing discrepancies, and monitor freight costs and budgets.
• Partner with suppliers, manufacturing, and sales teams to ensure shipments meet project schedules and customer requirements.
• Manage import/export shipments, customs documentation, duties, and compliance with applicable transportation regulations.
• Oversee packaging, documentation, freight claims, and shipping procedures for large capital equipment.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for shipping and receiving activities.
