Job summary

The Smithsonian Institution seeks a Supervisory General Supply Specialist to oversee central receiving and warehouse operations in the Washington, DC area. You will direct distribution, storage, and inventory management of personal property and coordinate excess property movement across SI facilities.

Responsibilities include supervising warehouse staff, ensuring safety and efficiency, managing the PPMS asset records, and serving as COR and Alternate NUO to support reutilization programs.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience at GS-11 or higher in warehouse operations.
• Experience guiding personal and real property disposal and related regulations.
• Must have served as NUO or Alternate NUO; time-in-grade requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervise warehouse personnel engaged in receiving, storage, shipping, and disposal.
• Ensure safety, efficiency, and space utilization of warehouse operations.
• Manage the ERP/property system for asset receipt and records.
• Serve as Contracting Officer Representative for multiple contracts.
• Act as the Accountable Property Officer for the OCon & PPM warehouse.
• Serve as Alternate National Utilization Officer for SI reutilization program.
