Job summary

Surge Staffing is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead daily warehouse operations, build a strong team, and drive safety, accuracy, productivity, and customer service. The role partners with Customer Success and Quality to ensure efficient execution and profitability.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, data-driven, and capable of developing employees while using performance metrics to improve results. Travel is approximately 10% for meetings or events.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of warehouse experience with demonstrated leadership of teams.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory movement, and resource planning.
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Excel, and Word.
• Ability to manage projects, prioritize demands, and meet deadlines.
• Experience using performance metrics to identify issues and improve results.
• Strong communication, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented with sound business judgment.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities: receiving, storage, inventory movement, and distribution.
• Oversee scheduling, security, and opening/closing procedures.
• Ensure accurate, timely WMS transactions.
• Optimize space, labor, equipment to boost productivity and cut costs.
• Lead deployment and assessment of new operations initiatives and systems.
• Coach and develop warehouse supervisors and staff.
• Set clear safety, productivity, quality, attendance, and service expectations.
• Support onboarding and ongoing training on procedures.
• Foster accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
