Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. in Des Moines, IA seeks a Warehouse Operations Manager for 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 7:00am-3:30pm). You will oversee daily warehouse activities, drive safety, quality, and service, and lead a diverse team to meet customer commitments.

Responsibilities include hiring/training staff, implementing process improvements, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring accurate records. A background in logistics and strong problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime (weekends as needed).
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field is preferred.
• 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience and knowledge of lean methodologies are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers, vendors and team members to ensure commitments are met.
• Establish procedures to maintain quality objectives and program effectiveness.
• Provide guidance to supervisors on personnel, quality and safety.
• Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively.
• Recommend programs to improve operations and coordinate maintenance.
• Maintain records and generate reports in a timely manner.
• Enforce safe work practices and OSHA compliance.
