Job description

Leidos is seeking to enhance our organization through a focus on delivering end-user centric IT solutions to our Centers of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) customers. Our goal is to provide an innovative and seamless experience with CMS systems, applications, and solutions, ensuring proactive secure development of IT integrations, concepts, and designs across the CMS enterprise. We also aim to integrate end-user computing devices, conference room technology, infrastructure hardware and software, and user applications into a streamlined experience for CMS users, all while maintaining data protection and fostering a positive end-user experience.

Position: Senior Material Controller

In this role, you will collaborate closely with program management to plan, schedule, and manage the movement of materials from receipt in the warehouse to deployment into production. Your responsibilities include managing material movement with purchasing, asset management, and field technicians, overseeing warehouse activities, and promoting a culture of excellence through leadership and customer service.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Manage inventory of all warehouse materials.
  2. Plan and implement warehouse layouts at Leidos and CMS facilities, including receipt, discrepancy handling, inventory, and shipment preparation.
  3. Handle inbound and outbound shipments, including palletizing, verifying, and tracking materials.
  4. Manage physical assets of contractor-operated and government-owned materials and equipment in the warehouse.
  5. Maintain a spare parts inventory.
  6. Coordinate with procurement and asset management to ensure timely receipt and shipment aligned with project schedules.
  7. Ensure a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  8. Administer property management and ensure accountability of government and company property per regulations.
  9. Maintain property records, assess condition, and manage disposal of surplus assets.
  10. Support property declassification, sanitization, destruction, and recycling services.
  11. Support shipment, excess, and storage activities, updating centralized databases accordingly.
  12. Initiate and maintain government property disposition processes.
  13. Provide excellent customer service and troubleshoot issues promptly.
  14. Train and oversee warehouse staff.
  15. Manage lifecycle of government and company property from acquisition to final disposition.
  16. Conduct property audits and ensure compliance with regulations.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience managing CMS warehouse operations, including COCO and GOCO, preferred.
  • Strong inventory control skills and knowledge of warehouse best practices.
  • Experience with ServiceNow ITSM and CMS/HHS property disposition processes.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail, sense of urgency, and flexibility in meeting deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Residency requirement: must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
