Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Senior Warehouse & Final Mile Manager in Elkridge, MD to lead distribution center operations and supervising teams responsible for warehousing and transportation solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), 5+ years in supply chain, and strong leadership with a focus on safety and process improvement. Competitive compensation with 10% bonus and comprehensive benefits. This is an on-site role with standard weekday hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or 8+ years relevant work experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
  • 5+ years in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or related field.
  • 3+ years supervisory experience.
  • 2+ years P&L experience preferred.
  • Travel 0–10%.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with the customer to resolve issues and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic operational planning and execution for the operation.
  • Lead continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives to strengthen team performance.
  • Hire, supervise, develop and manage employee performance.
  • Maintain open communications within and across work groups.
  • Review data and take necessary actions; may manage P&L depending on scope.
  • Lead a proactive safety program; enforce safety plans and training.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and adherence to processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title

Senior Warehouse & Final Mile Manager (internally titled Senior Logistics Manager) – Elkridge, MD

Compensation

Annual Salary: $90,000 to $95,000 (paid twice per month). Bonus eligibility: 10% annually.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Additional hours and days as needed to support business needs.

Role Summary

The Senior Manager Logistics provides leadership for the Distribution Center and supervisors, who are directly responsible for turn‑key warehousing and transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interface directly with the customer to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic operational planning and execution for the operation.
  • Identify and/or solve operational issues with the account(s) by implementing continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives, to strengthen team unity, goals, productivity and results.
  • Hire, supervise, develop and manage performance for employees and maintain a positive employee relations environment at assigned account(s).
  • Maintain open and effective communications within the work group(s) and with other work groups within the organization.
  • Review data, identify and implement necessary actions as required.
  • May manage the profit and loss statements based on the complexity and scope of the organization.
  • Lead a proactive safety program within the work group(s) consistent with company policy in order to provide a safe and secure work environment.
  • Instruct and enforce location safety management plans, training and processes.
  • Monitor the maintenance of equipment for assigned work group(s) by using checklists and observations as required.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Master's degree preferred in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
  • Five (5) years or more in Supply Chain, Logistics, warehouse or industry related field required.
  • Three (3) years or more supervisory experience required.
  • Two (2) years or more profit & loss experience preferred.
  • Two (2) years or more application experience of Lean principles, systems and tools required.
  • Travel 0-10%.
