Job summary

EY is seeking a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to implement and manage Web Application Firewall solutions, protecting client applications from cyber threats. You will monitor traffic, analyze security events, and respond to incidents while collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen security postures.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with Cloudflare and Imperva, Terraform for IaC, and mentorship of junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a relevant field.
• 3-5 years of experience in web application security operations with focus on WAF management.
• Hands-on experience with WAFs such as Cloudflare and Imperva required.
• Terraform for infrastructure automation preferred.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and incident management is a plus.
• Certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+) a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and optimize WAF solutions to protect client applications.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls.
• Monitor application traffic and security events to identify threats.
• Analyze security incidents and perform root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and respond to incidents.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies, rules, and documentation.
• Assist with security audits and assessments and ensure policy compliance.
• Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies.
• Leverage WAF solutions (Cloudflare, Imperva) and Terraform for IaC deployments.
• Mentor junior engineers on WAF management and incident response.
